DENTAID TECHNOLOGY NANOREPAIR: AS OF THE FIRST APPLICATION

Technology based on the use of hydroxyapatite nanoparticles, the principal component in teeth, which bind naturally to the hydroxyapatite in the teeth to thereby ensure full integration with tooth enamel. 

The nanometric dimension of hydroxyapatite nanoparticles is very important because this makes them behave according to the laws of quantum physics, conferring on them new properties, applications and benefits when they stably integrate into the tooth enamel. 
The concentration of nanoparticles must also be suitable for the greatest effect. To determine the ideal concentration in toothpastes, Dentaid conducted a study together with Dr. Gil Loscos et al. (University of Valencia) to ascertain the tubular sealing capacity in vitro and the duration thereof of a hydroxyapatite nanoparticle-based toothpaste applied to the dentin surface, using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) imaging; 3 different concentrations of hydroxyapatite nanoparticles (0.15%, 0.45% and 0.75%) were tested. 
The results showed that the paste that behaved best was that with a concentration of 0.45% of hydroxyapatite nanoparticles, both during application and after subsequent rinsing, concluding that hydroxyapatite nanoparticles are capable of reducing dentinal permeability by occluding the dentinal tubules through the formation of deposits on the surface of the tooth. None of the other concentrations showed this sealing effect. 
Dentaid has thus proven that the concentration of hydroxyapatite nanoparticles contained in its toothpaste and mouthwash formulas is optimal for achieving the maximum effect as of the first application.
